Ashley was born in San Clemente, California on February 10, 1987. Before making the move to Hawaii, she began surfing at the age of five old. At the age of 6, she won the contest using an outdated board found in the trash in front of her home. At the age of 5, she began surfing. She won her very first contest at age 6.
