Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both her two appearances on Roseanne. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession until after she had reached adulthood because her parents were concerned about the adverse effects that stress could have. Perry admitted that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school. She began performing as a means to connect with new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was able to land minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent after she graduated. The feeling of homelessness, however, led her back to California again where she began to work in the stage. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 In 2015, she appeared with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. The actress was also featured on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The role was offered to her through an open audition despite being connected to this role.
