Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy an enormous following within The United States. However, their fame grew internationally, particularly in Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo artist after the group split up in 1979. She began taking voice classes before releasing her debut album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and disappeared from the world of rock for about an entire decade. Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
